How to Become a Chaperone
All parents/guardian must be registered to chaperone or volunteer with any school in Indian River County.
There are two levels of chaperone/volunteers.
Level 1 is for parents who would like to assist with the program but will not be ALONE at any time with a student/students.
Level 2 is for chaperoning trips (overnight and day), assisting in situations where they may be one on one with a student. This includes a fingerprinting step with a cost of $78.

The application is for both Level 1 or Level 2 volunteers. It consists of multiple steps, but you can stop at any time, without losing any work. You can return to complete your application up to 25 days later.. Look for an email that will have the next step which is 5 forms that need to be completely filled out.
. Once these forms have been completed, please email Mrs. Hastings (michelle.hastings@indianriverschools.org) and Mrs. Hartmann (Alyssa.hartmann@indianriverschools.org) letting us know that you have completed the steps. This can take up to three weeks.
. To become a Level 2, you will arrange to be fingerprinted after filling out the forms. There are several places that you can go to be fingerprinted. The cost is $78 but it will be good for 5 years and is good for any school in the district. Once this has been done, we will wait for clearance.
