Our Programs

There’s more to GMS’s performing arts programs than what happens in the classroom! Through Band, Chorus, and Color Guard, students build skills, confidence, friendships, and a love for the performing arts while enjoying memorable experiences beyond campus. Throughout the year, students may attend theater performances, conventions and conferences, learn from collegiate music programs and guest mentors, partner with high school musicians, participate in community events, and celebrate their hard work with fun trips and special experiences. There’s always something to look forward to!

Band

From first notes to full performances, the GMS Band program helps students grow as musicians and performers. Students can participate in Beginning Band, Advanced Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band, learning a variety of wind, brass and percussion instruments while performing in concerts and community events throughout the year.

The GMS Chorus brings students together to develop their voices, musicianship, and confidence through group performances. This co-ed program introduces students to vocal technique, harmony, and ensemble singing, with opportunities to perform at school concerts and community events throughout the year.

Color Guard

One of Gifford’s newest performing arts programs, Color Guard combines movement, music, and flag work in an energetic and creative setting. Students learn fundamentals of rhythm, choreography, coordination, and performance—making it a great fine arts elective for students who enjoy dance, movement, and creative expression.
